How Whatnot fees work in 2026

Whatnot charges two fees on every order. Commission is a percentage of the item price after any coupon you gave. Shipping and sales tax are not part of it. Payment processing is 2.9% plus $0.30 on everything the buyer paid: item, shipping and tax. In a live show each item won is its own order, so the $0.30 applies per card sold.

Since 21 September 2026 the commission depends on your total sales over the previous four weeks and on the category of the show (live) or product (marketplace). The rate you earn in one four-week period applies to the next.

A worked example

A $50.00 single sells in a sports show at the Standard tier. The buyer pays $5.00 shipping and $4.00 sales tax. Commission is 8% × $50.00 = $4.00. Processing is 2.9% × $59.00 = $1.71, plus $0.30 = $2.01. Fees total $6.01 and you keep $43.99. The $5.00 shipping pays for Whatnot's prepaid label, so it is not yours; the tax goes to the state.

Things that change the number

The Pullsheet ledger uses the same fee tables for manual sales and reads the actual fees from your Whatnot Weekly Orders Report when you import it. For the full picture, read Whatnot fees explained and Whatnot taxes.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Whatnot take from a sale?

For sports cards and TCG in the US: 8% commission on the item price at the Standard tier (under $15,000 of sales in the last four weeks), falling to 6.5% at $500,000+, plus 2.9% + $0.30 payment processing per order on everything the buyer paid. On a $50 card with $5 shipping and $4 tax, that is $6.01.

Does Whatnot charge commission on shipping?

No. Commission is charged on the item price after any coupon you gave. Payment processing, however, is charged on the full amount the buyer paid, including shipping and sales tax.

Is there a cap on Whatnot commission for expensive cards?

Since 14 January 2026, TCG and Sports Singles listings pay 0% commission on the part of an order above $1,500. Breaks and mystery products are excluded, and Whatnot calls it a limited-time promotion. Processing still applies to the full amount.

What does Whatnot charge on giveaways?

No commission, because the sale price is $0, but the seller pays the giveaway’s shipping label, which is deducted from the balance.
