eBay's trading card rates
| Seller | Final value fee | Above the threshold | Per order |
|---|---|---|---|
| No store or Starter store | 13.25% up to $7,500 | 2.35% | $0.30 (order ≤ $10) or $0.40 |
| Basic store or higher | 12.35% up to $2,500 | 2.35% | $0.30 (order ≤ $10) or $0.40 |
The final value fee is a percentage of the total amount of the sale: item price, shipping, handling and sales tax. The per-order fee is charged once per checkout order: $0.30 if the order total is $10 or less, $0.40 above $10.
eBay's own example: a $9,500 card plus 6% sales tax = $10,070, so the fee is 13.25% × $7,500 + 2.35% × $2,570 + $0.40 = $1,054.55.
Why the fee looks higher than 13.25%
The percentage applies to the whole order total, not just the card. A $100 card with $5 shipping and 8% sales tax on both has a total of $113.40, so the fee is 13.25% × $113.40 = $15.03, plus $0.40: $15.43, or 15.4% of the card's price. The tax never reaches you because eBay collects and remits it, but it still sits in the fee base.
Per-order fees are charged once per checkout, so a buyer who combines five cards into one order costs you one $0.40, not five. The ledger's eBay import applies it once per order number.
eBay UK
UK private sellers pay no final value fee or per-order fee; buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee instead (not a seller cost). UK business sellers pay 10.9% for Collectables, Sports Memorabilia and Toys & Games, a 0.35% regulatory operating fee, and £0.30 per order (£0.40 above £10, since 12 Feb 2026), all on the total including postage and tax.
Whether trading cards qualify for eBay UK's reduced 10p per-order fee in 'selected Collectables categories', and VAT on business seller fees, were not confirmed.
Log the sale in the Pullsheet ledger to carry the card's cost basis into the profit, or import your eBay Transaction report to use the fees eBay actually charged. More detail in eBay trading card fees.

Frequently asked questions
What is eBay’s fee for trading cards?
On eBay US, sports trading cards, non-sport trading cards and collectible card games pay a 13.25% final value fee on the total sale up to $7,500 and 2.35% on the part above, plus $0.30 per order ($0.40 if the order total is over $10). Basic store subscribers and above pay 12.35% up to $2,500, then 2.35%.
Does eBay charge its fee on sales tax?
Yes. The final value fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale, including shipping, handling and the sales tax eBay collects from the buyer. eBay’s own example: a $9,500 card plus 6% tax is $10,070, so the fee is 13.25% × $7,500 + 2.35% × $2,570 + $0.40 = $1,054.55.
Are graded cards charged a different eBay fee?
No. eBay’s fee pages list no separate rate for graded, sealed or single cards in these categories as of October 2026; they all use the trading card rates.
What does eBay UK charge to sell cards?
UK-based private sellers pay no final value fee or per-order fee; buyers pay a Buyer Protection fee instead. Business sellers pay 10.9% plus a 0.35% regulatory operating fee and £0.30 per order (£0.40 above £10), on the total including postage.
